You might hide your iPad under your pillow when you leave, or stash your pocket money under a mattress, but let’s be honest here, the majority of houses aren’t really that well protected. But, we’re here today to show you some of the most highly protected homes in the world. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter's story is powerful, its freedom is liberating, and its world is one of the most beautiful I've ever wandered around.

7 Weird Ways Games Tried to Stop People Playing Them

Games occasionally have sneaky, weird and/or hilarious ways to keep people who aren't supposed to be playing them from playing them. Witness the times games have tried to stop people from playing them with unconventional means, and subscribe for videos like this every week: http://www.tinyurl.com/SubToOxbox Sometimes these means are designed to thwart pirates. Among the games with novel anti-piracy methods is Batman: Arkham Asylum, which did the equivalent of sneaking into the batcave and tampering with all of Bruce Wayne's stuff, giving you a cape that didn't let you glide properly, and a grappling hook that would totally ignore what you were actually trying to hook on to, instead choosing its own trans-dimensional anchor point beyond the boundaries of time, space, and the edges of the level map. Ancient raunchy graphic adventure Leisure Suit Larry, on the other hand, was keen to keep kids out, due to its adult content, and so designer Al Lowe implemented a trivia test you needed to pass before being given access to the game. This quiz consisted of questions he didn't think children would be able to answer. To be fair, he was probably right; the test was full of pop culture references you'd have to be in your sixties now to get, and Wikipedia wouldn't be invented for another 14 years. Elsewhere on the list are Mirror's Edge, pirated versions of which nerfed Faith so she couldn't sprint into long jumps, and The Sims 4, in which modesty pixellation of Sim nudity gradually took over the whole screen like a digitised rash.
